My Reading Obssession
Permalink

I've switched over from reading many books a week to reading one or none at all. I've wondered what life is like not to be able to read, but its not a wonder I'd like to be able to pursue.

I can journey to incredible places. I can enter the heads of fascinating people. I can stop time, take a break, and continue on later. Things I would normally not do, I could do in books. And i dream of the day when I could do these things for real.

I don't remember not being able to read. I don't remember not speaking more than one language. I don't remember not remembering at all. Always I've looked to the past for guidance. Always I limit myself to what I could be. Always I do my best work at the last minute.

Maybe it's drudgery to dig up the past. It's my hobby. Maybe it's not even worthwhile. At least I'm learning something. Maybe it's all common sense. I just don't get it. I'm sitting here trying to prove, I haven't made a mistake, when mistakes aren't even bad at all.

The solution is simple once it's solved. I like to be different that is all. Not to be strange or an outcast or a fool. To remain simple without being simplistic, to complicate things without being confused.

Everything smooth, everything fast, everything as it should be. Its like I already know how the game is going to end whats the point in making it then and besides it's tedious. I get a lot of unresolvable errors which force me to rethink my strategies and start from scratch.

Well anyway, I went from there to here: My first books were picture books, then it was fact books, then it was childrens encyclopedias, then it was comic strips, then it was encounters of the unexplained, ripleys believe it or not, guiness world book of records, then it was fairy tales, then it was horror books, then it was detective stories, then it was the classics, then it was fantasy, then it was biographies, and when I finally discovered science fiction, I was stuck.

I had found my calling. I just knew I'd be a writer even if not an author. Instead of reading, I want to write - I just dont know how it will develop in time, but its interesting to see that my previous webmaster experience has led me to the creation of this particular website.

I didnt think
I'd make it, It's still pretty iffy, if
there is anything I have learned it
is this: It's like
that, and
thats the
way it is,
moe
